Description
When it comes to the 6th Doctors costume I have always said I like the style, it’s just a shame about the colour… Colours.*
Consisting of a coat with large turn up sleeves and coat length lapels, a tailed waistcoat (In some versions), watch chains, an extravagant neck tie and button up spats over his shoes, the costume is reminiscent of an eccentric early 19th century gentlemen and can be seen as an early example of Steampunk fashion in science fiction.
The three illustrations I have here from left to right are.
A version of the multicoloured costume we saw in the 6th Doctors run on TV
The blue costume that was developed in the extended universe and later adopted as cannon.
And a black interpretation by me, based on the fact that Colin Baker had wanted something dark, elegant and mysterious to match his characterisation of the Doctor.
I hope you like it.
I did my own take on the blue costume.
